FAITH

CHURCH

Our Story

Faith began as a small gathering of believers in a home in north Denver in 1965 with only a few dozen people meeting in a small suburban home. As we grew, we moved to a church building in Arvada and – when busting at the seams – made the transition to a building in downtown Denver.

We acquired the property we are on today in 1979, building the East Campus first and latter in 2002 building the West Campus, which is where we gather to worship together having become a multi-generational, multicultural church. Now, more than 50 years later, it is not only a half-century of existence, but a half-century of witnessing God’s faithfulness, love and grace in and through our lives.

From our humble beginnings, we have always been about people encountering the love of Christ, uncovering the power of God’s Word, experiencing the presence of God in worship and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit.

MISSION STATEMENT

We exist to see people saved, the saved equipped, and for every person to experience the presence of God.

OUR VISION

To reach as many people as possible with the good news of Jesus Christ and bring them into an ever-growing relationship with God.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in the triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – who created the universe – who is omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (present everywhere), and omniscient (all knowing). He created us to be in relationship with Him and to bring glory to His name. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, without error, that guides every part of our lives.

HOLY BIBLE

The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible, and inerrant.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1: 20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26

TRINITY

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and coeternal.
1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11

OUR APPROACH

In the ESSENTIALS – we have UNITY.
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Ephesians 4:4-6).

In NON-ESSENTIALS – we have LIBERTY.
“Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to dispute over doubtful things . . . Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master, he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand . . . So, then each of us shall give account of himself to God . . . Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves” (Romans 14:1,4,12,22).

Above all – LOVE.
“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing” (I Corinthians 13:2).
